Celebrating wins can mean different things to different people. For me, one major win of this past year was setting up with my easel to do live caricature portraits on the spot at one of our local wine tasting rooms for their annual Holiday Sip & Shop! (If you haven't been to Tlo Wines in Bakersfield, you must!)
Here's a photo my friend Madison Cowan(another local artist) took of me. We had a good laugh over the fact the WINE sign in the back spelt out WIN.
Live art is one of my passions, and I tried my hand at portraits last summer, but really wanted to let go and just have fun with it this season. Well, instead of talking myself out of it, which sometimes happens even after years of doing this... I went in with the goal of enjoying myself and wanting to connect to the right people. Apparently these portraits where such a hit that....
I'M COMING BACK FOR VALENTINE'S DAY!
I am honored that Avery, the owner of Tlo, reached out and asked me to make caricature portraits at Tlo Wines again!
Making art is remembering Hi Reader, Ever feel a loved one close by, but you can't see them? Maybe they are thinking of you, or praying for you (goodness knows I need it). This weekend was a very special one to me... as it connects so many aspects of my heart and my head together. Halloween was the day my husband proposed to me... All Saints Day is the day we remember all the saints and people in Heaven. In particular... my heart is remembering my Grandma Rita lately. She was my best friend...
