Ever feel a loved one close by, but you can't see them? Maybe they are thinking of you, or praying for you (goodness knows I need it). This weekend was a very special one to me... as it connects so many aspects of my heart and my head together.
Halloween was the day my husband proposed to me... All Saints Day is the day we remember all the saints and people in Heaven. In particular... my heart is remembering my Grandma Rita lately. She was my best friend and spiritual mentor. I looked up to her and appreciated every conversation we ever had. She always listened and if I needed help, would remind me to pray the rosary and ask Jesus to talk to me... and just listen.
She was a generous person who went through so much in her life, but gave back all she could. When I can I choose to give in the greatest way I know how, and that is making art.
I was able to paint live during the Children's First Gala this year; a local charity that helps give all children an opportunity to succeed in life by creating opportunities for education, growing community, and helping with food to counter act negative influences like drugs, crime, and poverty.
It's being able to contribute with what skills and talents we have, with the right intention and thought, that is what matters. I hope wherever the painting ends up, it brings the hope and joy to continue to move forward and touch the ones that it is meant to inspire.

With taking time to reflex on what matters most, and connect, I have been actively journaling and clearing my head again, reminding my self to not be distracted and focus on what is good and joyful. 1 - Became an auntie again to another beautiful niece! 2 - Cheered on my oldest daughter & the Studio K pom classes as they performed at the opening Condors hockey game! 3 - Successful School Field Trip to Sey Studios! 4 - Youngest daughter co-teaching crochet class & rocking it! 5 - Lots of puppy snuggles with our dogs! 6 - Preparing for holiday season and making new art kits! 7 - Watching The Amazing Race as a family (never got into it, and enjoying the competition and challenges.) 8 - Getting ready for the second annual ART HEIST in Bakersfield this Friday (find me at Tlo Wines) 9 - Enjoyed my first Planner Meet Up with The Playful Space! 10 - Did I mention the mural? (STAY TUNED!)

Studio Happenings: Smiling while Drawing Love! Hi Reader, Celebrating wins can mean different things to different people.
