August Art Class News

Shout out to my summer students!

They all did so incredibly well! One of our most favorite lessons had to be the donut paintings and showing them how to use glow paint!

We had such a blast (though we still have this week left)! I just want to thank everyone also as we transitioned from one location to another, and loving our new space more and more every day!

For August, Monday Art Classes have been cancelled, but Art Classes on Fridays are happening! All currently registered families have been updated!

Our first class for August Art Class begins this Friday, August 2nd. Due to the Heartland Back to School Park Day, class will NOT be in session on August 9th.

LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER
FOR AUGUST ART CLASSES!

All families, it is time to register for classes! If you are with Heartland Charter School Funds, please follow the following steps.

1. Visit www.seystudios.net​
2. Click on Classes & Workshops
3. Select Heartland Student Registration
4. Register your Student through my site.
5. Go to Procurify and submit order for August services to use funding.

UPCOMING EVENTS

• Art Class - Students are invited to create art through various materials, techniques, exploration, & play. Drawing, painting, mixed media, & more.
  • Fridays from 10am - 11am
  • August Dates: 1st, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
  • There will be no class on August 9th due to the Heartland Back to School Park Day

• Heartland Park Day - We will be popped up at Bakersfield's Back to School Park day on Friday, August 9th from 9am - 11am. Check out what we have to offer, grab a freebie from our booth, and say hi! We'd love to see you!
• Painting Class - Discover the vibrant world of acrylic painting in this engaging and hands-on class. Perfect for both beginners & experienced artists, you'll learn essential techniques such as color mixing, brushwork, and layering.
  • Starts Monday, Aug. 5th through 26th from 5pm - 6pm
  • Ages 10+
  • Spots available for August
• Cartooning Class - Designed for students who love to draw and want to learn the art of cartooning such as classic, kawaii, or anime. Explore character design, storytelling, and expressive drawing techniques. Different each month. Develop your unique style, create your own characters, and bring exciting stories to life.
  • Starts Tuesday, July 9th through 30th from 4pm - 5pm
  • Ages 10+
  • Spots available for July and August
• Digital Art Class - Explore the exciting world of digital art! Students will learn to draw and paint using Procreate on their tablet. They'll discover digital tools and techniques to create amazing illustrations and designs. Perfect for young artists who want to bring their ideas to life digitally.
  • Starts Tuesday, July 9th through 30th from 4pm - 5pm
  • Ages 10+
  • Spots available for July and August
• Private Art Instruction - One-on-one art instruction. Students will learn through play with various mediums and techniques but will have an individualized instruction. Topics can include, drawing, painting, mixed media, art history, creative business and how to make art as a career.
  • All ages.

THERE IS STILL TIME TO APPLY TO KERN COUNTY FAIR ART EXHIBIT

Sharing this wonderful opportunity for our young artists!

Every year, the Kern County Fair puts on a competitive art exhibit that anyone can join. I would love to see some students put their work in this. If you are interested here is the link for the Junior Artists category.

Submit your best work! If you would like to bring it to class for any helpful tips or to look it over, please do and I will help in anyway I can.

Important Dates:

Entry Deadline: Friday, September 6, 2024
​Entry Drop Off: September 13 - 16, See book for specifics for each division​
​Entry Pick-Up: Monday, September 30, 8 AM - 4 PM
